Sausage Granny Wild Rice with Toasty Nuts and Craisins

Ingredients

2 lb. John Morrell Loop Smoked Sausage (cut in half moons)
Instant Wild Rice
1 can of Chicken broth
Oil
1/4 c. of Red Onion (thinly sliced)
1 c. of Granny Smith apples (sliced or cut in chucks)
1 bag of Craisins
8 oz. of Toasted Walnuts
Salt & Pepper
Chopped fresh herbs (basil, thyme & parsley)

Preparation

Microwave 1 bag of Uncle Ben’s® Wild Rice. Sauté onion with John Morrell Smoked Loop Smoked Sausage oil till light golden brown. Add the Granny Smith Apples and let these cook for about 3 to 4 min. Next add just a touch of chicken broth to deglaze. Add the Craisins, toasted walnuts and wild rice (already microwave) and salt & pepper to taste. Finish by sprinkling the fresh chopped herbs and serve on your favorite plate. Sausage Granny Wild Rice with Toasty Nuts and Craisins makes a great light lunch!
